I’m in love with “In Over My Head” by Jenn Johnson, from the album ‘We Will Not Be Shaken’. She’s a member of Bethel Music.
This is one of my favorite lines:
Further and further,
my heart moves away from the shore
How often have we remained stand still because we’re afraid of the unknown. You know how when you’re in a pool and you stick your toe in to determine whether or not you’ll jump in?
When it comes to God’s will for your life you don’t get to choose. Sometimes you need to cannonball and be prepared for what life throws at you.
It’s time we let go of our fears, our insecurity, our anxiety. The shore represents our comfortability but the waters…they’re so vast and they give a clear picture of what we are yet to achieve with God on the other side.
Have faith and be ready to walk on water. God is on the other side, waiting to take our hand and pull us close to Him. But we’ve got to take that first step. On the other side of fear is faith.
Are you ready to leave the shore or do you still want to be sinking slowly in the sand?
God bless,
Susan.
