Can I just say that worrying is such an UGLY feeling!. It’s amazing how quickly our moods change in the space of 24 hours. We start contemplating our lives, family, friends, relationships, future …and we remind ourselves that God has it all, and then that small doubt suddenly rolls bigger and bigger into fear.
2 Timothy 1:7
“I have not given you the spirit of Fear but of power, love and a sound mind”.
Let me ask you this. What good is that verse if the third one is absent in this declaration that He has given us? The worry that we carry around causes us to have heaviness in our hearts and lowers our self-esteem unknowingly. It feels like someone dropped a whole load of thick textbooks and expects you to walk around gracefully.
This is where Matthew 11:29-30 comes in:
“Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me;…for my yoke is easy and my burden is light”
There’s a reason why He says this because we can’t do it on our own, we’ll eventually burn out. When we hand our problems, feelings, and surrender ourselves to God, — we’re saying “God, you’ve got this, and I know when the waves crash and I can’t hear your voice, you’re there on the other side.
God bless,
Susan.
